Senior Benefits Analyst Responsibilities:
- Administer retirement plans, including defined benefit, defined contribution, supplemental retirement, and retiree medical and life plans
- Audit retirement plan eligibility and participant data, ensuring accuracy of employee and employer 401(k) contributions, and resolve discrepancies with internal systems and record-keepers
- Oversee loan administration to ensure compliance with loan terms and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with HR, auditors, finance, legal, and actuaries on retirement-related matters
- Prepare and submit 5500 annual filings
- Process life insurance claims related to death benefits
- Coordinate funding for retirement plans
- Manage legal communications, such as Annual Funding Notices and Summary Annual Reports
- Process Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs)
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Lead special projects, such as file feed enhancements and total reward statement data collection and testing
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Senior Benefits Analyst Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, or a related field
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in employee retirement benefits
- Pension experience is required
- Demonstrated experience managing benefits for unionized and non-unionized employees is required
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and Word (e.g., mail merge)
- Hands-on experience utilizing Workday HRIS system
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of retirement legislation and compliance requirements
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
- Proven problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on customer service
