Our client, a healthcare-based organization, located North of Nashville; needs a direct-hire Senior IT Project Manager. The Senior IT Project Manager is a leadership role responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing complex IT initiatives across the organization. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders, manage project teams, and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions within defined timelines and budgets. This role requires a deep understanding of IT systems, project management methodologies, and business alignment strategies.
 
Senior IT Project Manager Responsibilities:
  • Lead multiple concurrent IT projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities
  • Define project objectives, scope, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Oversee the project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Facilitate clear and consistent communication, including status reports, risk assessments, and issue resolution
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams, business units, and executive leadership
  • Allocate and manage project resources, including team members, vendors, and budgets
  • Identify skills gaps and recommend training or additional resources to meet project needs
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, project governance, and regulatory requirements
  • Champion continuous improvement in project management practices
  • Introduce tools, templates, and best practices to optimize project delivery
 
Senior IT Project Manager Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT project management
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale projects with multiple dependencies
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification required
  • Agile/Scrum certifications (e.g., CSM, SAFe) are highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall)
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or Smartsheet
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience managing cloud migrations, cybersecurity initiatives, or software development projects
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Prior experience in a leadership role within a fast-paced environment
  • Healthcare experience is a plus
