Senior Patient Financial Representative Responsibilities:
- Verifying insurance coverage, explaining billing processes, providing financial counseling and ensuring timely payment for services rendered
- Act as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers and insurance companies to facilitate clear communication and resolve any financial issues
- Assist patients with questions regarding their bills, insurance coverage and payment options
- Monitor accounts receivable to ensure appropriate levels are maintained and review payments to maximize reimbursement
- Communicate effectively with patients, insurance carriers, billing vendors and practice staff regarding patient accounts and billing matters
Senior Patient Financial Representative Requirements:
- Previous experience in a healthcare billing or financial role is a plus
- Strong understanding of medical billing and coding, insurance processes and healthcare financial assistance programs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
