The Senior Sales Planner will play a pivotal role in driving business performance through effective forecasting, planning, and performance analysis. This individual will work cross-functionally to enhance sales strategies, streamline planning processes, and provide insights that support data-driven decisions across the sales organization.
Senior Sales Planner Responsibilities:
- Update sales forecasts based on current sales trends, promotions, and key market activities
- Identify sales gaps and develop actionable plans to address areas of underperformance
- Track and manage customer orders, supporting sales managers in achieving revenue goals
- Analyze customer and distributor performance, delivering insights that drive commercial strategies
- Monitor sales KPIs and regularly report progress and trends to leadership
- Lead annual and quarterly sales planning efforts, coordinating with cross-functional partners
- Support strategic customer and distributor reviews, providing relevant data and insights
- Utilize tools like SAP and IBP to manage sales data and identify areas of improvement
- Enhance sales planning tools and processes to drive greater accuracy, efficiency and alignment
Senior Sales Planner Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in sales planning, sales operations, or forecasting within a consumer goods or retail environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to interpret data and deliver actionable insights
- Proficiency in SAP, IBP, Oracle, JD Edwards, and Microsoft Excel; experience with planning tools, CRM systems, and S4HANA is a plus
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a proactive and collaborative mindset
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and adapt to evolving business needs
