Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
- Keep our finances on track by maintaining the general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and transparency
- Help manage accounts payable, receivable, and cash flow to keep operations running smoothly
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, grant reports, and budgets that drive our mission forward
- Ensure our accounting practices align with GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting standards
- Assist with the annual audit and collaborate with external auditors
Staff Accountant Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred) or a related field
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, ideally in a nonprofit environment
- Strong understanding of GAAP, fund accounting, and grant reporting
- Experience with QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or other accounting software
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and excited to work for a mission-driven organization
