Warehouse Manager Responsibilities:
- Oversee the receiving, storing, and distribution of raw materials, finished products, and supplies within the warehouse
- Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular cycle counts, and address discrepancies
- Implement inventory control systems to minimize stockouts, overstocking, and product loss
- Supervise and lead a team of warehouse associates, including training, performance evaluations, and professional development
- Ensure that all warehouse staff follow safety procedures, operational protocols, and company policies
- Schedule and manage shifts to ensure sufficient staffing levels for peak production periods
- Manage inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to customers
- Coordinate with transportation and logistics partners for the scheduling of shipments
- Inspect incoming deliveries for accuracy, quality, and quantity, and resolve any issues with suppliers
- Develop and implement best practices for warehouse operations, aiming to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve workflow
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement changes to enhance productivity and safety
- Lead continuous improvement projects in the warehouse, focusing on layout, inventory handling, and overall performance
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all warehouse activities
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, performing regular safety audits and ensuring all equipment is in safe working condition
- Conduct safety training for warehouse employees and enforce safety guidelines
- Provide regular reports on inventory levels, shipping/receiving activity, and warehouse performance to senior management
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., manufacturing, sales, and purchasing) to ensure smooth coordination of operations
- Address and resolve any operational or customer service issues related to warehouse activities
Warehouse Manager Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or similar role in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management software
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for warehouse operations
- Forklift certification and other relevant certifications are a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
