Staffing, Recruiting Firm Supports Annual Pat Tillman Foundation ‘Our Fallen Hero 5K’
CHICAGO (September 22, 2016) – LaSalle Network, a national staffing and recruiting firm, is sponsoring the “Our Fallen Hero 5K Run/Walk” on behalf of the Pat Tillman Foundation, which offers educational sponsorship to military veterans and their families.
Specially, this race honors Private First Class, Aaron Toppen, a soldier who was killed in action while battling behind enemy lines in Afghanistan in 2014.
To date, the Foundation has given nearly 14 million dollars in academic scholarships with 460 scholars at more than 100 academic institutions nationally.
Since the race’s inception, LaSalle Network has supported the race, whether it has been employees volunteering as course marshals or running. Last year, more than thirty employees and their families joined the race.
Kasey Shafer, executive assistant at LaSalle Network, has attended every year, volunteering as a course marshal helping facilitate the race. Her parents have also joined each year.
“I love being a course marshal,” said Shafer. “It’s extremely moving to see everyone come together to honor the life of someone who was taken too soon.”
The “Our Fallen Hero 5K” takes place Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 8amCT. The race will start at the Willowview park parking lot, located at 11420 W. 197th St., Mokena IL, 60448.
